Getting Around Seneca Lake Without Uber or Lyft

You’re ready to plan your getaway to the Finger Lakes -- but what if you don’t have a ride?

Ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft aren’t readily available in the Seneca Lake area, so it’s important to plan for that when you’re designing your Finger Lakes vacation. Don’t worry though -- there are still several convenient and enjoyable ways to get around without relying on ride share services, whether you’re traveling alone or with a group.

Here are some alternative transportation options for navigating Seneca Lake and making the most of your visit to the Finger Lakes:

Depending on where you’re coming from, you’ll be able to rent a car from a nearby airport or there are additional rental options in Geneva, Penn Yan, Ithaca, and Horseheads.

Having a car gives you the freedom to explore the area at your own pace without having to worry about waiting for a pickup or drop off. Just be sure to check the rental policies and book in advance to secure the best rates.

Driver Services: Although ride-hailing services may be limited, there are still options available around Seneca Lake if you need a ride and don’t want to drive yourself.
