Getting Out on the Water on Seneca Lake
35 miles long, 3 miles wide, and with a maximum depth of 630 feet, Seneca Lake is truly a gem in the Finger Lakes (and we’re not just saying that because we’re so close to it!). If you’re coming to visit the area and love getting out on the water while staying active, then Seneca Lake is THE place to be.
While our rentals aren’t lakeside, they are just a few minutes drive from some of the lake’s best activities. Here are some ways we’d recommend getting out on Seneca Lake when you’re visiting our FLX vacation rentals.

If you love to paddle…
Kayaking or paddleboarding around Seneca Lake makes for some great views as well as plenty of opportunity to spot wildlife (think birds, fish, and beavers). If you’re looking to get out on the water while giving yourself a little bit of a workout, you can rent a kayak or paddleboard through Seneca Lake Kayak and Paddleboat or Summit to Stream Rentals (they offer lessons, too!). Glen Harbor Marina also offers rowboat rentals for cruising or fishing if you’d rather go out with a group.

If you feel the need for speed…
Board a boat! Sunshine Boat Rentals offers pontoons that are great for groups or you can rent boats of all sizes (including jet skis!) through Anchor Inn. Fishermen will love the experience offered by Roy’s Boys or Reel Stories Fishing Charters while those who enjoy sailing will get a great experience through the True Love Schooner. You can even take sailing lessons through Seneca Sailing Academy in Geneva.

If you’re looking for a more relaxing float…
Take wine and lunch cruise with Captain Jim, tour with Falling Waters Boat Tours, or set sail with Captain Bill’s Cruises. Looking to DIY your experience? Try a cycle boat! Finger Lakes Cycle Boats is one of our favorite recommendations for visitors because not only do they give you a fun way to get out on the water, but they’re BYOB and BYO-food friendly!
Now these are just a handful of our recommendations for getting out on the water, but if you have something specific in mind that you’re looking for, feel free to ask us when you book and we’d be happy to tell you more about some of our favorite spots and vendors!
